Transportation
Dallas County Schools is the 3rd largest Pupil Transportation Organization in the country. With over 1,900 buses, twelve (12) service centers and a transportation department staff in excess of 2,000 employees, DCS transports approximately 71,000 children to and from school safely each day.
In addition, DCS has five (5) multi-function activity buses which can be reserved for field trips and special events. These Activity Buses provide comfortable seating, CD and DVD players, navigation system, AM/FM stereo, large storage compartments, drop-down monitors and state of the art electronics. Now, DCS also offers five (5) motor coach buses that can be reserved for long distance events by schools. These 57 passenger buses are equipped with restrooms, bucket seats, under carriage storage, wifi, 6 drop down DVD monitors and 11 power outlets.

Mr. Aaron D. Hobbs, Executive Director of Transportation for Dallas County Schools (DCS), is responsible for Transportation, Fleet Maintenance, and the DCS Service Centers and Staff. Mr. Hobbs has over 30 years of experience in transportation. He attended Prairie View A&M and College of Mainland in Texas City and began his transportation career as a bus operator for Dickinson ISD where he was promoted to Assistant Director. For 9 years, Mr. Hobbs was with Houston ISD and most recently served as their Senior Manager for Operations. He is actively involved in the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation where he served as president of his chapter as well as statewide president of TAPT.
