Ashley Wilson is General Counsel for Dallas County Schools.  As General Counsel, Ms. Wilson counsels and advises administrators regarding grievance topics and procedures, risk management issues, personnel and discipline issues, investigations, contracts, student issues, Texas open government laws, governmental immunity and liability issues, competitive bidding laws, state and federal employment laws, and various transportation and employment policies and procedures. 

Ms. Wilson graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana State University and earned her law degree cum laude from Southern Methodist University. Prior to joining DCS in November, 2009, Ms. Wilson was an Associate at Strasburger & Price, LLP, where she represented several other school districts and governmental entities.

She holds the following professional affiliations: 
Licensed Attorney in Texas
Admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas
Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit

The General Counsel at Dallas County Schools reports directly to the Superintendent and is part of the Superintendent’s Department.
