SALARY RANGE: $62,4273.98 - $76,130.36 (Commensurate w/ Education & Experience)

Primary Purpose:

To plan, develop, implement and monitor district’s loss prevention programs addressing risk exposures in compliance with Federal and State laws and local Policies and Procedures. Responsible for investigating, reporting and overseeing accident investigations, assignments and management of post-accident actions. Manages the District’s drug & alcohol testing programs, medical examinations and DPS motor vehicle records. Assist Dept. Director in the evaluation of contracted vendors supporting claims management and procurement of insurance and/or related insurance services. Assist Dept. Director in the development of loss control programs to reduce and or mitigate the District’s risks. Assists the Dept. Director in the development of and implementation of emergency management programs for the District and serve as a liaison between the District and outside entities during emergency events. 



  • At least 5 years of supervisory/management experience and 5 years of vehicle accident investigation experience and emergency event response and management
  • Certified Peace Officer, current or expired within last 5 years or other specialized vehicle accident investigation certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, preferred
  • Valid class “C” Texas Driver’s License

  • Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases and word processing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, management, and the public
  • Ability to perform all the physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements of the position including decision making
  • Knowledge of the State laws and regulations pertaining to vehicle traffic laws
  • High level of analytical skills to find and implement solutions to complex interpersonal, legal, financial and technical issues
  • Knowledge of training methods, procedures and techniques
  • Knowledge of claims investigation procedures and techniques
  • Ability to maintain accurate insurance files and claims records
  • Ability to develop clear and concise written investigative reports
